About Spooky Squiggles
A history lesson
Hi, my name is Tim Clarke and I am the artist and creator of Spooky Squiggles. The idea of what became Spooky Squiggles had been with me for a long time in one form or another. For as long as I can remember I have sketched strange little characters and chaotic landscapes. Whilst sat, pen in hand, scratching at a piece of paper lost within my own imagination, I would watch as the characters would form. As the character evolved so did my knowledge of them and I would start to learn who he was, where he came from and the life that he lead. I would begin to understand his feeling, his fears and anxieties and why he was in the situation that he was.
Over the years, the characters, landscapes and locations began to combine and the artwork was overflowing with each other. Elements metaphorically portrayed would find their way into different pieces, the same characters would be hidden away and put into different situation with the locations in each piece being related.
As time past a whole chaotic and surreal world was forming inside my own head. It was filled with strange people, crazy creatures and random not so inanimate objects. Everything in my imagination began connecting together like puzzle pieces and so Spooky Squiggles was born.
It was The Spooky Show and the inter dimensional journey of a traveling side show through the elaborate surreal worlds that are inside my own head. The Spooky Squiggles being the misfits that are too strange to fit into their own habitats in these world and so at the hand of fate find their place in the spooky show and travel from world to world.
